Found the right filters but not the right home yet? You don’t have to keep coming back to check. Create a search alert and Property Finder notifies you when a new home matches your criteria, so you can be one of the first to call. In a market where good homes go fast, that head start matters. Here’s how to set it up.
Create a search alert
- Search for what you want on Property Finder: choose rent or buy, the community, and your filters (property type, bedrooms, price range).
- On the results page, tap Create alert icon.
- Log in or create a free account if asked. Your alert is saved to your account, so you get it on both the website and the app.
That’s it. From then on, whenever a new property matches your saved criteria, you’re notified.
View or delete your alerts
- Tap your profile icon at the top of Property Finder to open your account.
- Go to Search alerts. You’ll see every alert you’ve created.
- Delete any alert you no longer need, for example after you’ve signed a contract.
Save individual homes too
Alerts cover future listings. For homes that are already live, use Save:
- Tap the heart icon on any listing to save it.
- Find everything you’ve saved in your account under Saved properties, so you can compare homes side by side before booking viewings.
- Your Contacted properties list, in the same menu, keeps track of the agents you’ve already reached out to.
Tips to get ahead of other renters and buyers
- Create more than one alert if you’re open to a few communities. One alert per community keeps each notification specific.
- Act quickly on new matches. Well-priced homes in popular areas can get multiple enquiries on day one.
- Start with the checked listings. A Verified badge means our quality team confirmed the listing’s details. Learn more in how listings are verified.
- Adjust as you learn the market. If an alert stays quiet for weeks, your budget or filters may be too tight for that community. Delete it and create a new one with a wider range.
Ready to set yours up? Run the search you care about and tap Create alert on the results page. Start your search on Property Finder.
Frequently asked questions
Search or browse questions about search alerts and saved properties.
What is a search alert?
A search alert saves your search criteria, like community, property type, bedrooms, and price range, and notifies you when a new property matching them is listed on Property Finder.
Do I need an account to create alerts?
Yes, alerts are saved to your Property Finder account, which is free to create. That’s what lets you manage them from any device.
Where do I find my alerts?
Tap your profile icon, then go to Search alerts. Every alert you’ve created is listed there.
How do I stop or delete an alert?
Tap your profile icon, open Search alerts, and delete the alert you no longer want. If an alert sends too many matches, delete it and create a new one with tighter filters instead.
How do I save a specific property?
Tap the heart icon on the listing. It’s stored in your account under Saved properties, so you can come back to it and compare homes before booking viewings.
Why isn’t my alert finding anything?
Your filters may be too narrow for that community, for example a budget below the area’s going rate. Widen the price range or add a nearby community and you’ll start seeing matches.
